Dictionary Project

 

The Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach members distribute in November over 400 dictionaries to all 3rd graders in the six elementary schools serving the children of families living in the New Smyrna Beach Community.

Feed the Hungry Project

 

The Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach conducts a food drive during the month of February to feed hungry families in the Southeast Volusia County.  Known as Rotary Has Heart, the food drive brings the food to a local pantry.  

Youth Programs

 

Youth Exchange: The Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach sponsors a high school junior or senior to a year abroad and also hosts a student in the same age from another country. 

Youth Leadership Awards: Two high school juniors or seniors are sponsored for a three day leadership seminar

Interact:  The club sponsors a student run organization within the New Smyrna Beach High School. 

Will Goodrich Service Above Self Award

 

The Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach recognizes three times during the year a civil servant (firefighter, police officer, teacher) for their service above the call of duty.

Scholarships for High School Seniors

 

For many years the Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach has made a commitment to assist graduating seniors with a scholarship.  The amounts vary according the fundraising activities of the club during a given year. 

Supporting the Community

 

The Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach has been at the forefront in contributing funds to a variety of not-for-profit organizations in the community which focus on health, hunger, literacy, mother and child health, disease and economic development.
